Contest Yachts of Holland announce launch of first of a new sub-60ft performance bluewater adventure cruiser.

Market leading luxury sailing yacht builder, Oyster Yachts, has announced it is recruiting over 100 people to join its workforce. With shipyards in Southampton, Wroxham and Ashmanhaugh, as well as offices in Palma and the US, this will expand the UK based company’s headcount to over 400 people internationally.

The Greifswald shipyard is adding the Y9 to its portfolio. The first unit has already been sold and will be delivered next year.

Just over a fortnight after the lockdown ended, the sailors and their teams are now busy catching up on lost time. Many IMOCAs have been relaunched after their winter refits, which took longer than planned. There have been more and more measurement checks and trips to check out the changes made during the winter. Other sailors have to wait a while before heading back out to sea. We look at what has been happening at the end of the refit season.

Emirates Team New Zealand revealed their new custom designed and built test boat Te Kāhu today in Auckland. Te Kāhu meaning ‘The Hawk’ was rolled out of the shed on Wednesday and was christened by Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei.

Simply being nominated as the “European Yacht of the Year” or “European Powerboat of the Year” is a special recognition of a boatbuilder’s achievements. At FLAGSHIP NIGHT, the maritime industry event organised by publishing house Delius Klasing Verlag and the “Boot” trade show in Düsseldorf on Saturday evening, the winners of the two renowned awards “European Yacht of the Year 2020” and “European Powerboat of the Year 2020” were announced.

Key Yachting, the UK, Ireland, and Channel Islands distributor for J/Boats, enjoyed a glamorous evening at the Royal Thames Yacht Club on Monday night, for Chelsea Magazines’ British Yachting Awards. Marie-Claude Heys, Hannah Le Prevost, and Gemma Dunn represented Key Yachting and were joined by J/Boats President Jeff Johnstone, and a few British J/Boats owners.
